This mega building is part of the project, New-Safe-Confinement. A shelter implementation plan to contain for the next 100 years the radioactive remains from Chernobyl reactor 4.
This colossal movable steel building has a floor size of 387,000 square feet, enough space to hold 8 jumbo jets. The cost, more than 2.2 billions (SCI)! This project is supported by the EU and its member states. Administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
